# Shipping

Configuration

Shipping decides which delivery options a customer sees at checkout and what they cost. It is built from **shipping methods** (what the customer picks: "Ground", "Next day"), **shipping providers** (plugins that calculate the rates), **warehouses** and **pickup points**, and the **shipping settings**. All are under **Configuration → Shipping**.

### Shipping providers

Configuration → Shipping → Shipping providers.

- **Fixed rate**: one price per shipping method.
- **By weight**: price by method, country, state, zip and weight range, with a per-kg charge - for parcels.
- **Shipping point**: pickup points the customer chooses at checkout.

Activate a provider with **Edit → Is active**, then click **Configure** to enter its rates. Carrier plugins (real-time rates, labels, tracking) are added the same way.

### Shipping methods

**Shipping methods** lists the options offered to customers, with a description and display order. The fixed-rate and by-weight providers price these methods.

**Shipping method restrictions** hides a method for chosen countries or customer groups - for example no express delivery abroad.

### Warehouses, pickup points and delivery dates

Configuration → Shipping → Warehouses.

- **Warehouses**: where stock is kept. Products can be stocked in several warehouses; shipments say which one an item left from.
- **Pickup points**: addresses where customers collect orders, when **Pick up in store** is enabled. A pickup point can have a fee.
- **Delivery dates**: texts like "2-3 working days" you assign to products; they show on the product page.

### Shipping settings
