# Open source B2B ecommerce platform

**GrandNode is an open-source B2B ecommerce platform** built on ASP.NET Core, .NET 10 and MongoDB. Customer-specific prices, company accounts, sales representatives, tax exemption and order limits are part of the free edition, so you can build a wholesale portal or a dealer shop without paying per order, per user or per B2B module.

You host it yourself, own the code and the customer data, and connect it to your ERP the way your business needs.

### Why choose open source for B2B ecommerce

- **No revenue share:** B2B orders are large; a platform that takes a percentage of every order gets expensive fast. GrandNode is free under the GPL-3.0.
- **Your processes, not a template:** B2B rules differ between companies. With the source code, approval steps, pricing logic or ERP sync can be changed in C# instead of worked around.
- **Your data stays with you:** price lists, customer terms and order history are business secrets; they live in your own database, on servers you choose.
- **No lock-in:** an active GitHub project and a plugin architecture mean you can change hosting, partners or integrations without starting again.

### B2B features in the free edition

- **Customer groups** such as Wholesale, Dealer or VIP decide prices, which products and categories a buyer can see, free shipping, tax exemption and minimum or maximum order totals - see [customer groups](https://grandnode.com/customers-customer-groups).
- **Price lists:** tier prices by quantity, plus prices per customer group, per customer, per store and per currency.
- **Company accounts:** several buyers order on behalf of one company account.
- **Sales representatives:** sales employees with commission, assigned to customers; a sales manager sees only their own customers and orders - see [sales employees](https://grandnode.com/customers-vendors-and-sales-employees).
- **Ordering for customers:** staff can place an order as a customer, controlled by a permission.
- **VAT and documents:** VAT number capture and exemption, and documents in the customer account.
- **Closed or approved registration:** open sign-up, e-mail validation, admin approval or no registration at all.
- **Trade selling options:** call for price, quantity rules, pre-orders and availability windows.

### Wholesale and retail from one installation

A B2B portal rarely lives alone. With [multi-store](https://grandnode.com/multi-store-ecommerce), a wholesale shop and a retail shop run from one GrandNode installation - each with its own domain, prices, catalog visibility and theme - while they share one product catalog and one back office. ### Connect it to ERP, PIM and accounting

- **Backend API:** a JWT-secured REST API with OpenAPI documentation for products, prices, customers and orders - see [the REST API](https://grandnode.com/developers-rest-api).
- **Webhooks:** [GrandNode Webhooks](https://grandnode.com/grandnode-webhooks) push order and customer events to your systems as they happen.
- **Bulk imports:** [GrandNode Imports](https://grandnode.com/grandnode-imports) loads large catalogs and customer lists.
- **Plugins in C#:** custom payment terms, shipping rules or tax logic as plugins - see [writing a plugin](https://grandnode.com/developers-writing-a-plugin).

### Frequently asked questions

#### Is the B2B functionality free?

Yes. Customer group pricing, company accounts, sales employees, tax exemption and order limits are part of the open-source GrandNode under the GPL-3.0.

#### Can different customers see different prices and products?

Yes. Prices can be set per customer group and per customer, and products and categories can be limited to customer groups, so each buyer sees their own catalog and price list.

#### Can I hide prices from visitors who are not logged in?

Yes. Whether a group may see prices or use the cart is a permission of the customer group, so guests can browse the catalog while prices are shown only to approved buyers.

#### Can I run B2B and B2C together?

Yes, either in one store with customer groups or in separate stores of one installation with multi-store.

#### Can you migrate our current B2B shop?

Yes. We migrate products, customers, orders and SEO URLs for a fixed price - [request a quote](https://grandnode.com/migration).
