About GrandNode
GrandNode is an open-source e-commerce platform for .NET and MongoDB. We started it in 2015 with one idea: an online store that developers can build on for years - fast, complete, and free to run, change and host wherever they want.
Our story
- 2015 - work starts on an independent e-commerce platform built on .NET and MongoDB; the first beta is released in December.
- 2016 - the first stable version of GrandNode, in January.
- 2021 - GrandNode 2.0, rebuilt from the ground up on ASP.NET Core, becomes the only line we develop.
- 2026 - GrandNode 2.4: .NET 10, a panel for store owners and a security overhaul.
GrandNode in numbers
GrandNode 2, as of October 2026:
- more than 1,300 stars and 500 forks on GitHub;
- about 119,000 pulls of the Docker image;
- over 30 contributors and 20 releases.
Free software, funded by services
GrandNode is licensed under the GPL-3.0 and stays free. The full source code is on GitHub, and security fixes for the latest version are published for everyone.
We fund the project with services for companies that run GrandNode in production: GrandNode Official (long-term support releases with backported security fixes), store certification and data migration from other platforms. The code is the same for everyone; what you pay for is the service around it.
What we care about
- Built in, not bolted on: B2B, multi-store, a marketplace and a headless API come with the platform - see Features.
- Long horizons: clear support periods and upgrade paths, so a store can run on GrandNode for years.
- Honest status: every feature on this site is marked available, early access or coming soon - see the roadmap.
- Your data, your store: self-hosted, in your own database, with no fees tied to your revenue.
This site runs on GrandNode
grandnode.com is a GrandNode store: the plans and services are products, the documentation is its knowledgebase and this page is one of its CMS pages. What you see here is what the platform does.
