Multi-store ecommerce platform

GrandNode is an open-source multi-store ecommerce platform built on ASP.NET Core, .NET 10 and MongoDB. One installation runs as many online stores as you need - different brands, countries, or a B2B and a B2C shop - each with its own domain, theme, language and currency, all managed from one admin panel.

Multi-store is part of the free, GPL-3.0 edition. There is no per-store licence and no extra fee for the second, fifth or twentieth storefront.

Why run several stores from one installation

  • One catalog: add a product once and decide which stores sell it, instead of copying products between separate shops.
  • One customer base and order list: every order from every store lands in the same admin, with the store it came from.
  • One deployment to update: one application, one database and one set of plugins to upgrade and secure, not one per shop.
  • Lower hosting cost: the stores share the same servers, cache and MongoDB database.

What each store can have of its own

  • Domains: every store answers to its own host names; the primary domain is the canonical address used in links, sitemaps and e-mails.
  • Look: a theme per store, its own logo and its own pages.
  • Language and currency: a default language and currency per store, with multiple languages and currencies inside each one.
  • Company details: name, address, VAT and registration numbers on invoices and e-mails.
  • Settings: any settings page can be overridden for one store - checkout, catalog, tax, shipping, SEO and more.
  • Messages: about fifty e-mail templates per store and language.
  • Customer accounts: shared across stores, or optionally separate accounts per store.

Limit products, prices and content to stores

Products, categories, brands, collections, pages, blog posts, discounts and payment methods all have a Limited to stores option. Leave it empty to show an item everywhere, or choose the stores that should show it. Prices can differ per store through store-specific tier prices and discounts.

This is how one catalog serves a retail store and a wholesale store, or a Polish and a German shop, without duplicated data.

A separate panel for every store manager

Besides the main admin panel, GrandNode has a store owner panel. A store manager signs in there and sees only their own store - its products, orders, customers, content and settings - while the administrator keeps control of the whole installation. See the store owner panel in the knowledgebase.

Common multi-store setups

  • Multi-brand: several brands, each with its own domain and theme, sharing one warehouse and back office.
  • Multi-country: a store per market with local language, currency, tax and payment methods.
  • B2B and B2C: a public retail shop next to a B2B portal with customer group prices.
  • Franchise or dealer network: a store per location, each run by its own manager in the store owner panel.
  • Marketplace: combine multi-store with multi-vendor selling.

Set up a new store in minutes

  1. Open Configuration → Stores in the admin panel and add a store.
  2. Enter its name, URL, default language and currency, and company details.
  3. Add the domains it answers to and point them at your GrandNode installation.
  4. Pick a theme, override the settings that should differ, and limit products and content to the store.

Built on ASP.NET Core and MongoDB

GrandNode is an ASP.NET Core ecommerce platform: self-hosted, extensible in C# and running in Docker on Linux or Windows. Its MongoDB database and Redis-synced cache let several application instances serve all stores behind one load balancer. The full feature list is on Features.

Frequently asked questions

Is multi-store included in the free version?

Yes. Multi-store is part of the open-source GrandNode under the GPL-3.0, with no limit on the number of stores.

Can each store have its own domain?

Yes. Each store has its own list of domains, and GrandNode picks the store for every request by the host name.

Can stores share products but have different prices?

Yes. A product can be shown in several stores, and store-specific tier prices and discounts set different prices per store.

Can a store have its own manager?

Yes. A customer in the Store manager group, assigned to a store, works in the store owner panel and sees only that store's data.

Can customers have separate accounts in each store?

Yes, optionally. By default one account works in every store; an installation can be configured to register customers per store instead.
