Visibility in AI assistants

AI assistants answer shopping questions by reading web pages - sometimes from a search index, sometimes by fetching your page at the moment a user asks. To be recommended, your store has to be reachable, readable and trustworthy to a machine. Most of it is the same work as SEO, with a few differences.

Reachable

  • Allow the AI crawlers that fetch pages for users in robots.txt (see Sitemap and robots.txt). Blocking training crawlers is your choice and does not stop assistants from answering about you.
  • Keep product and category pages public - no password, no "store closed", no login wall for prices unless you mean it.
  • Check that firewalls and bot protection (Cloudflare and similar) do not block legitimate AI user agents.

Readable

  • GrandNode renders product pages on the server: name, price, description and availability are in the HTML. Keep important text in the description, not only in images.
  • Structured data gives exact values - price, currency, stock, brand, GTIN, rating, shipping and returns (see Structured data).
  • Write descriptions that answer real questions: what it is, who it is for, size, material, compatibility, what is in the box.
  • Pages load fast and work over HTTPS.

Trustworthy

  • Clear company information: name, address and contact on the Contact and About pages; the organization data in structured data.
  • Published shipping costs, delivery times and return policy.
  • Genuine, approved product reviews.

llms.txt

llms.txt is a proposed short guide to a website for language models. GrandNode does not generate one; if you want it, write the file and place it in wwwroot, so it is served at /llms.txt.

Check your store

The free AI-readiness check on grandnode.com reads your store the way an assistant would - product data, AI crawler access, llms.txt, sitemap, readability without JavaScript, HTTPS and speed - and lists what to fix. It works for any public store.
