SEO and AI visibility: an overview
Customers find products in two ways today: through search engines such as Google, and increasingly through AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI answers, which read store pages to recommend products. Both need the same things: pages they are allowed to read, clean addresses, accurate titles and descriptions, and machine-readable product data. GrandNode provides all of these; this section explains where each is set.
What GrandNode does by default
- Friendly URLs for products, categories, brands, pages, blog posts and more, generated from the name and kept unique; old addresses redirect permanently after a rename.
- Server-rendered pages: product names, prices and descriptions are in the HTML, readable without JavaScript.
- Meta tags: title, description, canonical URL, Open Graph and Twitter cards.
- Structured data (JSON-LD) for the store and every product: price, currency, availability, brand, identifiers, rating, and optionally shipping and return policy.
- robots.txt per store, editable in the admin, and sitemap.xml generated by a scheduled task.
Checklist before launch
- Set the store URL and HTTPS correctly (Stores and multi-store); System information warns when the URL does not match.
- Fill in the default title and meta description (Titles, meta tags and SEO settings).
- Give every product a meta description, alt texts on pictures, a brand and identifiers (SKU, GTIN).
- Enable the sitemap task and check
/sitemap.xmland/robots.txt(Sitemap and robots.txt). - Fill in the shipping and return details for search engines (Structured data).
- Decide which AI crawlers may read the store (Visibility in AI assistants).
- Connect analytics (Analytics and tracking) and submit the sitemap in Google Search Console.
